Itinerary
Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be welcomed by a Marv Safaris representative and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay. You will have the rest of the day to relax after your journey or explore Nairobi at your own pace.
After breakfast, you’ll depart Nairobi and embark on a scenic drive to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s most famous wildlife reserves. The journey takes you through the Great Rift Valley, offering breathtaking views along the way. You’ll arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive in the park. The Maasai Mara is home to the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino), as well as countless other species, making it a prime destination for wildlife lovers.
This day is dedicated to exploring the Maasai Mara. You’ll enjoy a full-day game drive, giving you plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife in its natural habitat. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Migration, one of the world’s most spectacular wildlife events, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles cross the Mara River in search of greener pastures. In addition to the wildlife, you’ll have a chance to visit a Maasai village and learn about the traditional way of life of the Maasai people.
After an early morning game drive in the Maasai Mara, you’ll have breakfast and then head to Lake Nakuru National Park. The park is renowned for its spectacular birdlife, particularly the flamingos that flock to the lake’s shores. The park is also a sanctuary for endangered species such as the black and white rhinoceros and the Rothschild giraffe. After arriving, you’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive before settling into your lodge for the night.
Following breakfast, you’ll depart for Amboseli National Park, located near the Kenya-Tanzania border. Known for its iconic views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli offers stunning photo opportunities as the park is dominated by large elephant herds roaming against the backdrop of Africa’s tallest peak. You’ll arrive in the afternoon and embark on a game drive before dinner at your lodge.
Spend the day exploring Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drives. The park is home to a variety of wildlife including elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and hippos. Between game drives, you’ll have the opportunity to relax at your lodge or take in the views of Mount Kilimanjaro, which can often be seen looming majestically in the background. Amboseli is known for its open landscapes, allowing for excellent wildlife sightings and photography.
After breakfast and a final game drive in Amboseli, you’ll start your journey back to Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight, concluding your 7-day Kenya safari.
